3M, World of Innovation, Neuss

7. February 2013

The internationally represented multi-technology group 3M has just opened its new „3M World of Innovation“ in Neuss. Visitors can navigate through 50,000 products. The real and the digital world are fused in the concept of „augmented reality“. This leads to an interactive exhibition which is unique in the world.

The core of the presentation is a 15 m spanning glazed show case where two transparent monitors can be moved in sliding rails. The backlighting is realised by LED-panels which move synchronised behind the translucent textile backwall of the cabinet. Visitors see real products which are complemented by movies and information displayed on the screens.

LED-spots highlight the product where the screens stopps.

All lighting solutions in the project, even the attached 3M Shop and the Lounge are executed with LED-technology. Except the ceiling lighting which was kept from the original architectural setting.
