Geysir-Information Center, Andernach

30. July 2009

The cold water geysir is the highest worldwide. It eruptes periodically to a height of 60 meters and a pressure of 35 bar. The city of Andernach has built this new information center to communicate knowledge of this natural phenomenon to visitors. The building itself consists of various block shaped parts which remind the spectator of a cracked rock in the volcanic environment. The lighting concept visualizes the idea of cold water running through the rocks. Thus every glazed opening of the building is lit by blue light in the interior.
