Rheinfelshalle, St. Goar

In 2005 a competition for art took place to endow the new multi-purpose hall. The lighting idea refers to the geographical position of St. Goar and its history: the city is placed right in the center of the world heritage Upper Middle-Rhine-Valley. The colours of the coat of arms which derives from the middle ages are red, blue and gold. The ligting installation can be experienced in three dimensions according to the structure of the building. It features the grammar of light in terms of reflecting and selfluminous areas.
